Causes of ageing summarized by Gillian:

There are many different reasons why some of us age faster than others such as some Genetic factors involved in the Ageing process and biological processes involving our DNA. There is a lot of information out there on the internet looking into the causes of Ageing and
why some people age more rapidly than others.

However, Without getting too scientific and going too much into the DNA and Epigenetics which are more medical and is a whole other ball game and specialised field that I am not the expert on.

The air we breathe is very important, as is the quality of the food we eat

The one we are most familiar with as Therapists and health and Wellness coaches etc is Oxidative stress, in brief, Oxidative stress and damage to our cells can be caused by many things but mostly is the following.

Environmental Pollution, the heavy metals we breathe in everyday living in busy cities like Hong Kong, London etc. can cause a toxic build up in our bodies affecting our internal organs.

Further causes of ageing…

  • Nutrition
  • Sleep
  • Hydration

Nutrition to help keep a healthy body and mind and feed our internal organs with good nutrition and lots of Vitamins, a healthy digestive system is so important as this affects the absorption levels of the Vitamins and nutrients in our bodies. And Elimination process.

Sleep is so important and the time our body gets to relax and repair itself, therefore a good quality sleep at night is important and should be minimum 8 to 9 hours, but it can vary from person to person as to how many hours sleep they feel most comfortable with
to function.

With lots of sleep and lots of water, good Hydration levels, a great nutritious diet packed with lots of Vitamins and Minerals can really help our skins look great and also help us to feel good too with a more relaxed Body mind and Soul and a clear mind to function better.
